Luter Door Closer ANSI BHMA Grade 1, UL listed 3 hours

The Luter's Door Closer Series are heavy-duty closer, designed for the most demanding high-use-and-abuse applications. It meets ANSI/BHMA A156.4 Grade 1 certified, UL listed 3 hours and apply with ADA requirement. 

404.2.8 Closing Speed. Door and gate closing speed shall comply with 404.2.8.

404.2.8.1 Door Closers and Gate Closers. Door closers and gate closers shall be adjusted so that from an open position of 90 degrees, the time required to move the door to a position of 12 degrees from the latch is 5 seconds minimum.


ADA COMPLIANCE TEST

1. On the push side of the door, locate a point on the horizontal center line of the push plate or lock trim, at 1 inch from the latch edge of the door.

2. Mark the floor at appoint where the push side of the door’s latch stile is at 70 degree, Mark a second point where the push side is 3 inches from the latch.

3. Open the door so the latch is clear of the strike and the door is slightly off the stop.

4. Using a force gage on the mark determined in Step1, gradually push the
door open to 70 degree mark established in step 2, observe the maximum force reading and the numbers
